Portland Taiko Benefit Banquet Posters and Postcards
Since 2006, Portland Taiko has held their annual spring fundraiser at Wong‘s King Seafood Restaurant, with performances, a live auction, and a multi-course Chinese dinner. The design using the bachi (drumsticks) and chopsticks was first used in 2008, and has been used many times since then.

Below: the concept was one of three presented in 2007, with the nod that year going to a more traditional style.

Below: another early design used illustrations of three types of drums. As promotions were often printed (photocopied) in-house at the time, a black-and-white version of the poster was created, as well as postcards that could be printed four at a time on an 8.5" x 11" sheet and cut down to size.
